Bringing entrepreneurial experience, practical knowledge, and strong advocacy to Maine real estate.
I came to Maine when I was 22, leaving Martha's Vineyard in my 1963 International Harvester pickup with my two cats, searching for a new frontier.
I had found success with a market garden business, being one of the first farmers to grow baby vegetables in the eighties, but it was nearly impossible for a young person to own land on the Vineyard. Maine offered opportunity, space, and the kind of community where you can truly build a life.
I have always been an entrepreneur. When I arrived in Maine, I started a hand knits business, launched my own landscaping company, and worked in natural foods retail. Creating, building, and growing businesses has always come naturally to me.
I have also always been a house junkie. When you are a do-it-yourself entrepreneur, you quickly learn where the houses are that no one else is paying attention to. Sometimes they are the ones others overlook. Sometimes they just need vision. Necessity being the mother of invention, I have learned a great deal about fixing houses over the years: the good, the bad, the ugly, and the miraculous. I understand craftsmanship, value, and what truly makes a home solid.
I know a few things about antiques and art as well. My great-grandmother was an amateur dealer, and I happily followed in her footsteps. I am one of those people you cannot send out on a short errand without coming home with a grand piano I found on someone’s lawn. But knowing value and being a savvy seller, I have done just fine.
My interest in business led me to earn an MBA, and along the way I picked up a paralegal certificate. I am also a Maine notary. That combination of business, legal knowledge, and hands-on experience serves my clients well in the Maine real estate market.
First and foremost, my work has always been about helping others and protecting what matters most. My sense of justice and civic duty led me to serve in the Maine State Legislature and on the Rockland City Council. Advocacy and representation are not new skills for me. They are part of who I am.
Today, I live in a rambling 1850s farmhouse with an attached ell and Gambrel roof barn, where I tend horses, chickens, and gardens. I understand the Maine lifestyle because I live it every day.
I bring a lifetime of practical and technical experience to Maine real estate. Whether you are buying a home in Maine or selling your property, I am well positioned to help you negotiate the best possible outcome, represent you clearly and honestly, and protect your interests from start to finish.
To me, a home is the storybook setting where life unfolds and lifelong memories are made. Nothing makes me happier than helping people with their home purchases and sales. Real estate is more than a transaction. It is the moment where YOU take the step to create a space where your life, and the lives of those you love, can grow and thrive.
