More About Me

Your Hometown Agent

I came to Maine when I was 22, leaving Martha's Vineyard in my 1963 International Harvester pickup with my two cats, searching for a new frontier.

I had found success with a market garden business, being one of the first farmers to grow baby veggies in the eighties, but it was about impossible for a young person to own land on the Vineyard.

I've always been an entrepreneur. When I got to Maine, I started a hand knits business, started my own landscaping business, and went into natural foods retail.

I've always been a house junkie, because when you're a do-it-yourself entrepreneur, you figure out where the houses are no one else is paying attention to, or wants, because you need to live somewhere!

Neccessity being the mother of invention, along the way, I've learned an awful lot about fixing houses: the good, the bad, the ugly, and also- the miraculous. I've learned what craftsmanship is, and isn't.

I know a few things about antiques and art as well. My great-grandmother was an amateur dealer, and I've followed in the footsteps. I'm one of those ladies you can't send out on a short errand without her coming home with a grand piano she found on someone's lawn.

But knowing value and being a savvy seller, I've done all right!

My interest in business eventually led me to a MBA degree, and along the way I picked up a paralegal certificate. I'm also a Maine notary.

First and foremost has always been helping others, and protecting what matters. My sense of justice and civic duty led me to a stint serving in the Maine State Legislature, and on the Rockland City Council.

I'm a proud mom and a grandmom. My current castle is a rambling 1850s farmhouse with attached ell and Gambrel roof barn, where I tend horses, chickens, and gardens.

I bring a lifetime of practical and technical experience to the craft of Real Estate. I am well-positioned to help you negotiate the very best deal, whether as a buyer or seller, to clearly and honestly represent you with accurate information, and to hold your interests as my client first and foremost.

I think of a home as the story book setting where life unfolds, and lifetime memories are made. Nothing makes me happier than helping people with their home purchases and sales, because it's more than just a transaction: it's the moment where YOU take that step to make the magic unfold, creating a space where your life for you and your loved ones can unfold and develop to the fullest potential.

More About Me

I was born and raised in Geneva, Switzerland, and moved to the States to attend Connecticut College in 1986. Since then, New England has primarily been my home although I have had many opportunities to travel and often return to Geneva to visit with family. With French as my first language, I enjoy any chance to speak French and help translate when needed. After living in Martha's Vineyard for several years, my family moved to Maine in 2005 and we have not looked back. I have served on several local boards, including a pre-school, a boat club, and a ski club. As such, I have met many wonderful people and now feel like I have roots here. I am especially delighted to have rekindled my alpine skiing competitive spirit and have been part of the Snow Bowl coaching staff for the past 10 years. The Snow Bowl holds a particular special place in my life as it exemplifies the benefits of a small town community run outdoor facility. My family and I spend a lot of time outdoors and the benefits are priceless, so it's always a pure joy to share that passion with others. I look forward to sharing all this with you!

More About Me

Lisa DG | Maine Real Estate Broker | Stewardship, Strategy, and Service

Choosing to make Maine my home was not an accident. It was a deliberate step toward the kind of life and community I value most. Although I was not born here, my roots in the Midcoast run deep, and it felt like coming home.

I was raised by parents who shaped how I approach business and life. My father instilled in me the value of a dollar, loyalty to community, and long term commitment. He lived in the same home and worked for the same company for over 40 years. My mother, an English teacher and artist, was a lifelong learner and independent thinker. From them I learned to think critically, consider multiple perspectives, and solve problems with both discipline and creativity. Those principles guide every negotiation and every client relationship.

Before real estate, I worked as a behavior therapist, helping families navigate complex challenges with clarity and compassion. I later built a successful career as a fitness coach, personally serving more than 6,000 clients and mentoring over 700 coaches who led clients of their own. I have also served as a youth leader for middle and high school students and now serve as lay leader of my church. Across each season of leadership, one theme remained consistent: people deserve thoughtful guidance, honest communication, and steady direction.

As owner and active broker of The New England Real Estate Company, I hold myself and my team to a higher standard of service. I represent clients buying and selling homes across Maine, from iconic waterfront estates to guiding families into their first homes and helping retirees secure the peaceful properties where they can begin their next chapter. From luxury oceanfront estates to classic farmhouses and simple retirement residences, every transaction receives the same level of strategy, discretion, and care. Real estate is personal, and understanding my clients is always the starting point.

My husband Tom and I live in Lincolnville on eleven acres, where we have cared for a variety of animals over the years including cats, dogs, geese, ducks, rabbits, chickens, and horses. Tom is a financial advisor and an avid golfer. I am happiest at the barn with my horse or exploring new places together. Our greatest joy is our three children and our two grandchildren.

Through The New England Real Estate Company, my commitment extends beyond individual transactions. We give one percent of our profits to nonprofits and return three percent to the dedicated agents who help drive our success each year. Excellence in business and investment in community go hand in hand.

Real estate is about stewardship, leadership, and relationships built to last. That is the standard I hold for myself and the company I lead.
