Charlotte Horovitz | Maine Real Estate Broker | Local Insight, Global Perspective

I was born and raised in Geneva, Switzerland, and moved to the States to attend Connecticut College in 1986. Since then, New England has primarily been my home, although I have had many opportunities to travel and often return to Geneva to visit with family. With French as my first language, I enjoy any chance to speak French and help translate when needed, especially for French-speaking clients navigating the Maine real estate market.

After living in Martha's Vineyard for several years, my family moved to Maine in 2005, and we have not looked back. Maine truly became home for us. Over the years, I have served on several local boards, including a pre-school, a boat club, and a ski club. Through these experiences, I have met many wonderful people and developed strong community connections, which now deeply inform my work in Maine real estate.

As a local real estate agent, I understand that buying or selling a home in Maine is about more than just property. It is about community, lifestyle, and putting down roots. Having built my own roots here, I enjoy helping others do the same.

I am especially delighted to have rekindled my alpine skiing competitive spirit and have been part of the Snow Bowl coaching staff for the past 10 years. The Snow Bowl holds a particularly special place in my life as it exemplifies the benefits of a small-town, community-run outdoor facility. My family and I spend a lot of time outdoors enjoying the Maine lifestyle, and the benefits are priceless. It is always a pure joy to share that passion with others, especially those considering a move to Maine.

I look forward to sharing all of this with you and helping you find your place here in Maine.

WHAT MY CLIENTS SAY?

KIND WORDS FROM MY LOVELY CLIENTS

Thirteen years ago my wife and I bought a home in a nice sub-division located in midcoast Maine. The house was fairly new, very well built, and served us well.  However, the realtor (representing us) gave us some wrong information regarding the association and a few other things. It was not a good experience. So...when a nearby house in the same sub-division went up for sale, we decided to view it, because we were thinking it would be nice to have a larger house.  We talked with a few local people to see if they could recommend a realtor who would do a great job working with us. That realtor ended up being Charlotte.  We in fact ended up buying the large house, and she did a fantastic job of giving us information and explanations throughout the whole process.  So...we knew right away that when it was time to sell our original house in the subdivision, we asked her to handle that sale.  Again, she explained everything to us, answered our questions, and then had a very good "Open House" showing.  As a result, we had multiple competitive offers, and the house was sold quickly.  Bottom line:  We totally endorse Charlotte as a highly competent realtor, and wouldn't hesitate in recommending her to anyone looking to buy or sell a house in Maine.

~G.S. & N.G.~

"Charlotte was a joy to work with! She is professional, knowledgable, and knows her way around a basement! As first-time homebuyers, we knew almost nothing going into the process. Throughout each step, Charlotte helped us to feel prepared and educated to make the right decisions. Charlotte represented balance, always keeping the big goals of the process in mind even when we got hung up on small details. She always listened to our little worries as well. I have already recommended her to my own friends, and would do so for anyone else as well. (A bonus point is that Charlotte is absolutely hilarious and made us smile through showings, negotiations, and closing! We feel as if we've gained a friend.)"
